By now you’ve probably seen the tweet, the Facebook status, or even the Facebook ad. I’ve finally gotten things squared away and will resume updating on 2010 June 21. There will be no monthly LOVIEE for June; the next one will be for July.
I appreciate the support and the well wishes from those of you who have expressed them. Thank you.
Effective immediately, I am placing this blog on hiatus. I don’t want to say for exactly how long, because I’m not sure how long; the circumstances which made this necessary are unlikely to change for at least another month.
I will leave the archives up in the interim, but will not be adding any new updates. I do intend to resume this blog at some point, so I will also be leaving the Facebook page and Twitter account active.
My reasons for doing this are multiple and varied, but the reasons have this in common: personal circumstances which make it awkward, uncomfortable, and of dubious appropriateness for me to continue to update this blog.
This was not an easy decision. I have posted thirty-six weekly LOVIEEs, nine monthly LOVIEEs, three special edition LOVIEEs, and eleven recaps. That’s a lot. I’m sorry if my remaining loyal readers out there feel I’m hanging you out to dry. I’m not; if you’re looking for stuff to do, there’s Do713.com, which is having a launch party this Saturday at Caroline Collective (4820 Caroline).
As reported by 29-95.com, Wired Live is locked out due to a rent arrearage of around $51,000. This would indicate the Satoshi Tomiie show this coming Friday night will likely at least be relocated to a different venue and/or rescheduled, if it is still happening at all. I just sent an email to Connekted Events, the promoter of the show, to find out what’s going on.
UPDATE 21:55: According to the reply I got, the show is going on as scheduled at Wired Live.
Just a quick note that effective this week, due to the relatively low number of Monday night events and my weekends becoming increasingly more hectic, the Weekly LOVIEEs will now be posted prior to Tuesday at noon unless there is an event on Monday night worthy of inclusion, in which case they will be posted prior to Monday at noon.
